Minnesota’s police association announces endorsement of Tom Sexton for State House of Representatives
(St. Paul, Minn.) – Today the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association and its Board of Directors announce their endorsement of Tom Sexton for State House of Representatives in House District 19B (Steele and Waseca Counties).
Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association (MPPOA) represents Minnesota’s 10,700+ public safety officials who hold active law enforcement licenses in the state of Minnesota. Members include police officers, correctional officers, dispatchers, and firefighters. MPPOA is the largest association representing public safety professionals in the State of Minnesota.
MPPOA Executive Director Brian Peters said, “The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association proudly endorses Tom Sexton for the State House of Representatives. He is a strong supporter of first responders and public safety officials and stands against attempts to defund and dismantle the police. He will always promote public safety proposals that keep communities safe. On behalf of the largest public safety association in Minnesota, we are proud to support Tom Sexton and his candidacy.”
Candidate for House District 19B Tom Sexton said, “I am pleased to be supported by our law enforcement community – and am proud to always stand with them and for safer communities. We must support and appreciate our Public Safety and Law Enforcement professionals as they perform the difficult and essential work needed to protect all of us every day.”
House District 19B (Steele and Waseca Counties) is an open seat due to the retirement of current State Representative John Petersburg.

Petersburg Endorses Tom Sexton
I have had the honor of serving this district for 12 years and your support has been greatly appreciated. I believe Tom Sexton is the best candidate to garner that same support and who will serve this district extremely well.
His 26+ years of commendable combat & military service indicates his willingness to fight for our constitutional rights and freedoms. His unwavering support of pro-life and 2nd Amendment rights align with the core values of this district. He has been endorsed by the Mn Police & Peace Officers Assoc. showing his commitment to law enforcement. He is a family man with deep rooted family core values.
He has been a member of the Waseca City Planning Commission and current chair of the 4th of July Lakefest in Waseca showing his community involvement and understanding of local politics. He gives back to his community and knows how important involvement is.
Tom’s experience as Sr Educator at the US Army War College proves his ability to educate other legislators on the beliefs and needs of this district. His ability to listen and understand other’s needs has made him a great educator. The perfect person to represent us in St Paul.
